O’Galena! Orienteering Festival

2010 Results

Orienteering is an outdoor recreational sport that involves using a map, compass, and written clues to navigate successfully a defined course. Beginners are welcome, and instruction is available at all times. This year three courses at John and Ginger Eisbach's Wooded Wonderland ranged from 1.0 to 2.1 miles.

We had eight teams with a total of 22 navigators on Saturday, September 18. River Ridge fifth graders (35 students with 9 adult guides) braved the intermediate course the following week. All teams returned after exploring deciduous forests with pine groves and hill prairies. The list below includes all the teams for each course in order of the number of stations found and total time taken.
